Formed in 2013 by school friends Josh Vaughan (Vocals, Guitar) and Tom Riley (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Bournemouth quartet CAPULUS deliver a high-octane, high-energy brand of melodic rock that inspires a sense of escapism from the mundane, transporting listener to an exciting world of grand, towering musicianship akin to the likes of Alter Bridge, Foo Fighters and Muse. Demonstrated in their previous singles, ‘Apologies’ (2019) and ‘Resist’ (March 2020), Capulus are perhaps best described as story-tellers, seeking to invoke a variety of emotions painted with both personal experience and observations of the world around them.
Instrumentally, one might imagine hurtling down a winding road at high speed, pushed forward by the high-powered engine of the band’s epic, stadium-quality melodies and body-rocking rhythm section – as provided by Alex Incani (Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals) and Giacomo Vacca (Drums).
Over the course of the past year, Capulus have been entertaining audiences all around the South Coast, as well as some well-known venues in London. More recently, the band have been writing new material, working closely with HP Studios to prepare for the release of their debut EP – expected to arrive in 2021. Despite being a “fresh face” to the world of melodic rock, the sheer scale and authenticity of Capulus’ melodic rock is guaranteed to garner attention as the band move forward into a bright and colourful future.
